A Little More About Us

Since the beginning of time, the moon has been associated with femininity. Across cultures, the phases of the moon represent the phases of the female cycle. Each aspect of the moon phase calls for a specific action or intention. The crescent moon is all about intention setting, change, and looking forward. CWC draws inspiration from this idea as we help you to understand your body and live in sync with its natural flow, rather than fight against it.

We prioritize whole-body health. This means although we are dietitians, we will discuss so much more than what you’re eating. We will ask about your stress levels, sleep quality, whether you experience loneliness, and so much more. We believe the body and mind cannot be separated and they constantly impact one another.

Because we take a broad approach to health, we can help with many conditions and health goals, but we especially love working with digestive issues, hormone balancing, and prenatal/postpartum nutrition.

Meet the Team

  • Owner and Registered Dietitian

In all honesty, Kara never expected to become a dietitian. But she ultimately fell in love with the way it balanced her love for people with her love for science.

Kara got her start in the nutrition world in eating disorder work. Ultimately, she started Crescent Wellness Collective because she found there to be a need for nutrition care that allows for individuality. Kara prioritizes the idea that the definition of health varies person to person based on where they are on their journey. Her work with clients is focused on viewing nutrition as a self-care practice. When change is from a place of self-hatred, it is difficult to make progress. Kara helps clients shift their mindset, establish realistic goals, and learn to truly take care of themselves.

When she’s not working, she’s either chasing after her toddler Mac, rushing to finish her book club book, or watching a show she’s already seen 10x through (e.g. Friends, The Office, Gossip Girl).

  • Associate Dietitian

Danielle joined CWC in 2024 and brings with her a wealth of knowledge. She most recently spent time taking care of the tiniest Texans in the NICU, but is eager for more longterm relationships with clients in private practice.

She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in Nutritional Science with a focus on biochemical and functional nutrition from The University of Texas at Austin. She has experience working with patients and clients throughout the lifecycle- from infancy all the way through advanced age. She practices from a functional and holistic lens. That means she believes our health is impacted not just by diet and exercise, but also by genetics and lifestyle habits including sleep, stress management, and social connections. Danielle will help you make plans that fit easily into your life to meet your goals.

When not working, you can find Danielle making pizza, out for a long walk with her dog, or sleeping in!

  • Intern Extraordinaire

Behind the scenes, our intern Ali is hard at work making CWC all that is is. Ali is on her way to become a registered dietitian. While pursuing an undergraduate degree in psychology, Ali is learning just how powerful the connection is between food and the mind. We're confident she will make an incredible RD very soon!

When she's not studying, Ali is probably watching Gilmore Girls, cooking new recipes, or traveling to new places!
