Let’s Work Together

Ready to get started? You can easily book your first appointment here. A few things to know before booking your first appointment:

  • If you have an HMO plan, a referral is required before you book. Check out our referral resource here.

  • We require a credit card to be kept on file, even if using insurance. By booking an appointment, you are agreeing to pay the full session fee of $125 if the appointment is canceled with less than 24 hours notice or you do not attend the appointment.

  • As of December 2024, Kara is on maternity leave and not accepting new clients. Our incredible and compassionate Associate Dietitian, Danielle Daily, has immediate availability and is excited to work with you!

If you have questions, read through our FAQs below to learn more about using insurance, our nutrition philosophy, and what you’ll discuss with your RD.

FAQs

  • We are currently in-network with most BlueCross BlueShield plans. Typically BCBS covers nutrition sessions at 100% with no out of pocket cost to you (even if you haven’t met your deductible!). If you’d like to confirm your insurance coverage, we recommended following these steps.

  • If you have an HMO plan, we will need a referral from your PCP prior to making our first appointment. Once obtained, you can fax your referral to us at 210-202-4106. Use our referral guide for more detailed instructions on how to request a referral.

  • It depends on your specific insurance plan! We recommend contacting your insurance company to ask what out-of-network benefits you have for nutrition counseling.

We can provide you with an insurance receipt (called a superbill) to submit for reimbursement after sessions. We also accept FSA/HSA cards.

  • We see clients primarily via telehealth. However, we do have in-person availability on Thursdays at our central Austin location (located near Zilker Park). If you’d like to meet in person, please be sure to select the in-person option when booking your appointment. Location details will be provided upon booking.

  • This is a big question. Ultimately, the advice we give can be summarized as eat real food. We help clients fill their plates with nutrient-dense, whole foods. Individualizations are made to support your specific health conditions such as GI issues, hormonal imbalances, stage of life, etc.

We also believe food is inherently emotional. We never expect our clients to view food solely as fuel because we don’t view food solely as fuel. Food is ingrained in the ways we mourn, celebrate, connect, and more. We help clients find the balance without relying on food as the primary way of regulating emotions.

Lastly, we whole-heartedly believe it’s impossible for us to know anything about your physical health just by looking at your body size. Weight is such a poor indicator of health. Instead, we help you assess your health based on how you feel along with evidence-based ways of measuring health.

  • Sessions are a balance of our dietitians providing education and helping brainstorm practical ways of implementing evidence-based nutrition practices in your life, along with exploring what barriers have come up throughout your life around health. We set long term goals, but we focus on breaking these down into weekly bite-size goals that create momentum and symptom relief.

  • Unfortunately, no. However, they are FSA/HSA eligible.
